President Trump Meets with Colombian President Petro at the White House

U.S.
President Donald Trump met with Colombian President Gustavo Petro at the White House.
Trump had previously accused Petro of drug trafficking and threatened military intervention.
The meeting was held behind closed doors, but both the White House and Petro shared photos on social media.
In a photo shared by the White House, a member of the Colombian delegation was seen holding a document stating, 'Colombia is the number one ally of the U.S.
against narco-terrorists.' Petro shared a photo and note given to him by Trump, stating, 'Gustavo, a great honor.
I love Colombia.' Trump had claimed that Colombia was being run by a leader who engages in drug trafficking.
Petro responded sharply to Trump's statements, highlighting his government's significant achievements in the fight against drugs and warning that military action would harm children.
