Man Arrested for Killing His Wife During Divorce Proceedings in Milas, Muğla

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced that a man who killed his wife during divorce proceedings in Milas, Muğla, has been arrested.
In a statement on social media, Minister Tunç emphasized that there can be no excuse for violence against women.
'The brutal murder of a woman by her husband during divorce proceedings in Milas has inflicted a deep wound on our conscience.
This murder is a despicable attack on a woman's and a mother's right to life, a crime against humanity.
There is no excuse for violence against women.
No justification, no excuse, no words can mitigate or normalize this brutality.
Whoever raises a hand against a woman, threatens, uses violence, or attempts to take her life, regardless of the justification they present; they will face the harshest consequences before the law and will not escape the grip of justice,' he stated.
Minister Tunç confirmed the man's arrest, saying, 'The individual has been apprehended and arrested as part of the investigation initiated by the Milas Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding this heinous incident that has caused us all deep sorrow.
There is no place in our legal system for this dark mentality that leaves children without a mother.
With the regulations we have made, the penalty for intentional murder against women is aggravated life imprisonment, and violence against women is grounds for arrest.
The perpetrator of this brutality will face the severest penalties in court.
There is no escape for the perpetrator.
I pray for the soul of our deceased sister.
Let there be no doubt!
Our state stands against all forms of violence against women; there is justice,' he added.
